The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Pharmaceutical Medicine – IFAPP, is a non-profit international scientific society serving the discipline of Pharmaceutical Medicine since 1975, registered in the Netherlands.
Pharmaceutical Medicine is the medical scientific discipline concerned with the discovery, development, evaluation, registration, benefit risk evaluation and medical aspects of the use of medicines for the benefit of patients and public health.
IFAPP is a purpose-driven organisation with an inspiring and actionable goal that pharmaceutical medicine professionals want to belong to and feel comfortable in.
IFAPP welcomes all generations and especially wants younger colleagues to develop their potential with us through career development pathways and trusted sharing and networking within our community.
The Federation’s mission is to benefit our members by enhancing the knowledge, expertise, skills and leadership of the pharmaceutical medicine profession.
IFAPP’s activities contribute to the above-mentioned mission by
- Acting as the international forum of organizations of pharmaceutical professionals of National Members Associations (NMAs) and Individual Affiliates (IAs)medicines development scientists.
- Fostering the development and international recognition of Pharmaceutical Medicine as a specialty with its specific body of knowledge and distinctive fields of professional responsibilities.
- Promoting the development of postgraduate education and professional development programmes in Pharmaceutical Medicine and medicines development.
- Organizing international conferences on Pharmaceutical Medicine and other educational events e.g., annual webinar series on contemporary topics.
- Establishing strategic alliances with international organizations with similar mission and goals, e.g., WMA, CIOMS, PharmaTrain, Regulatory Authorities and Academic Institutions.
- Publishing our monthly IFAPP TODAY Journal issues, scientific manuscripts in peer review international journals and contributing to scientific books relevant to our domain with the latest being “Ethical Innovation for Global Public Health” Springer edition, December 2023.
- Our efforts are focused on IFAPP community, identity and future and our top priorities include innovative projects of IFAPP Working Groups on patient aspects, strengthening IFAPP’s commitment to our NMAs and working to attract new NMA and IA members to the Federation.
I am confident that with the bundle of wit, resilience, dedication and team spirit of the IFAPP, we will meet our objectives and do all we can with the IFAPP community to achieve the future-proof growth and successful modernisation of IFAPP.
