File format
Article files can be in the following formats: DOC, DOCX, or RTF. Microsoft Word documents should not be locked or protected.
Length
The maximum word count should not exceed 1,500 words. For articles exceeding 1,000 words, authors are encouraged to include an abstract at the beginning.
There are no restrictions on the number of figures or the amount of supporting information.
Size
The overall size of the document should not exceed 10 MB.
Font
Use a standard font size of 11 and Arial font. To add symbols to the article, use the Insert → Symbol function in your word processor or paste in the appropriate Unicode character.
Title
Use a short, concise and „eye-catching“ title.
Headings
Limit article sections and sub-sections to two heading levels. Make sure heading levels are clearly
indicated in the article text.
Layout and spacing
Article text should be single-spaced.
Do not format text in multiple columns.
Footnotes
Footnotes are not permitted. If your article contains footnotes, move the information into the main text or a reference list at the end of the text.
Sub- and Superscripts
Please do not use any superscript and subscript of digits/numbers (e.g., in literature references or chemical formulas). Write (1), (2), (3), etc. instead and add the references below the final article, if possible before providing the author/-s’ names and affiliation/-s.
Language
Articles must be submitted in English, consistent throughout the text in British English.
Abbreviations
Define abbreviations upon first appearance in the text.
Keep abbreviations to a minimum.
Reference style
Use Harvard style, in text provided in parentheses (Last name, first initial. Year published)
Nomenclature
Use correct and established nomenclature wherever possible.
Units of measurement: use SI units. If you do not use these exclusively, provide the SI value in
parentheses after each value. Read more about SI units.
Figures
Recommended to use figures and a figure title numbering if more than one figure.
Illustrations
Recommended to use at least one illustration. The source of any illustration must be acknowledged, and a descriptive caption should be provided below each illustration.
Authors’ Names
Authors should be listed at the end of the article (i.e. after the References), followed by their titles, affiliations and a headshot in JPEG or PNG format, if possible
